Starting January 2026, Magenta TV will broadcast PGA, DP World, and Champions Tour events. Majors remain with Sky.
German broadcaster Magenta TV, owned by Telekom, has secured exclusive rights to air PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and Champions Tour events starting in January 2026. The deal runs through 2029 and includes 131 tournaments in its first year. Additionally, Magenta TV will broadcast the Ryder Cup in 2027 and 2029. However, Sky retains the rights to all men’s and women’s Major Championships.
300 Days of Live Golf on Magenta TV
The new rights package includes approximately 300 days of live golf annually across two newly launched channels—MS Golf 1 and MS Golf 2—available on Magenta TV from January 2026. MS Golf 1 will air full tournament coverage, while MS Golf 2 will offer additional content such as player features, current stories, and historical highlights. The service kicks off on January 15 with the Sony Open in Hawaii and the Dubai Invitational. The content will be available at no extra cost to all Magenta TV and MagentaSport subscribers.
“Golf has a new home on Magenta TV. With this package, we offer Germany’s most comprehensive live golf coverage ever—from the first tee shots to the final putts, live and modern,” said Arnim Butzen, Telekom’s head of TV.
Sky Retains Major Championships
Despite losing a significant portion of golf broadcasting rights, Sky will continue to air all Major Championships in the coming years. This includes the most prestigious events in men’s and women’s golf, such as the Solheim Cup and all five women’s majors. As a result, golf fans in Germany will need two subscriptions to follow weekly tournaments and major events live.
