Bernhard Langer on Why the PNC Championship Means So Much to Him

Bernhard Langer reflects on his memories at the PNC Championship and the special moments shared with his son.

Bernhard Langer vividly remembers his first appearance at the PNC Championship. At the time, his son was still in high school—young, ambitious, and suddenly among golf’s elite. “We had a blast,” Langer recalls. “Back then, he had to compete against pro teams—hitting drives and then aiming for the green with an 8-iron, even though he was three over par.” It wasn’t about the score, though. “It was just a great time.” That first experience sparked a tradition that continues to this day. “I loved this tournament from the moment I was invited.”

Among Major Champions and Legends

The PNC Championship brings together golfers who have made history. For Bernhard Langer, that’s part of the magic. “Being out there with other Major champions and some of the game’s legends is just something special,” he says.
