Bernhard Langer vividly recalls his first appearance at the PNC Championship. At the time, his son was still in high school—young, ambitious, and suddenly among the greats. “We had a blast,” Langer says today. “Back then, he had to compete against professional teams—hitting drives and aiming for the green with an 8-iron, even though he was three over par.” It wasn’t about the score, though. “It was just a wonderful time.” That debut marked the beginning of a tradition that continues to this day. “I loved this tournament from the very first moment I was invited.”

Among Major Champions and Legends

The PNC Championship brings together golfers who have made history. For Bernhard Langer, that’s a big part of the appeal. “Being out there with other Major champions and some of the game’s legends is just something special,” he says. But it’s not about trophies or prestige—it’s about sharing the game with family. “It’s one of my favorite tournaments.” Great careers meet budding swings, with Langer in the middle—as both father and player.
