Bernhard Langer cherishes family moments at the PNC Championship

Bernhard Langer reflects on his memories at the PNC Championship and the joy of competing alongside his son.

Bernhard Langer vividly recalls his first appearance at the PNC Championship. Back then, his son was still in high school—young, ambitious, and surrounded by golfing greats. “We had an amazing time,” Langer says. “He had to play against professional teams—hitting drives and aiming for the green with an 8-iron, even though he was three over par.” It wasn’t about the score, though. “It was just a wonderful experience.” That debut marked the beginning of a cherished tradition. “I loved this tournament from the moment I was invited.”

Among Major Champions and Legends

The PNC Championship brings together golfers who have shaped the history of the sport. For Bernhard Langer, that’s part of the magic. “Being out there with other Major champions and legends of the game is something truly special,” he says. But it’s not about trophies or prestige—it’s about sharing the game with family. “It’s one of my favorite tournaments.” Great careers meet budding swings, with Langer at the heart—as both father and player.

A Holiday Tradition

The December date makes the tournament extra special for many players—including Bernhard Langer. “It’s a wonderful time of year, right before Christmas, when families come together. It feels like a family reunion.” While the PGA Tour and other tours are on winter break, this event offers a unique blend of golf, camaraderie, and generational connection.
