Bernhard Langer’s record-breaking winning streak on the PGA Tour Champions has ended. After 18 years, he finishes a season without a title.
For the first time since 2007, the PGA Tour Champions season has concluded without Bernhard Langer claiming a tournament victory. This was confirmed on Sunday after Langer finished tied for 14th at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship. It marks the end of one of the most remarkable streaks in golf history, as Langer fails to secure a win in a season for the first time since joining the senior tour.
Bernhard Langer: The King of the PGA Tour Champions
Since 2007, Bernhard Langer has played in 377 events on the PGA Tour Champions, amassing a record 47 titles, including 12 major championships, and 237 top-10 finishes. His consistent excellence and ability to compete at the highest level well into his 60s have set him apart. Langer’s streak of winning at least one event every season since 2007 is the longest in Champions Tour history, far surpassing Hale Irwin’s 11-season run. In fact, Langer holds positions two through six on the list of oldest players to win on the tour. His longevity and sustained success are unprecedented in the sport.
A Season Without a Win, but Not Without Highlights
At 68, even a legend like Langer can’t escape the effects of aging. Despite playing 21 events this year, he was unable to secure a win. However, he still delivered strong performances, including a T2 finish at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship early in the season and six additional top-10 finishes. Impressively, he shot below his age of 68 in eleven rounds this season. This year also marked his farewell to the Masters after competing in the iconic major for 41 years.
While he didn’t win on the PGA Tour Champions, Langer did claim victory at the WinstonGolf Senior Open 2025 in Germany, leading from start to finish. He also looks to defend his title at the PNC Championship, a non-official event he won last year alongside his son Jason.
