Bernhard Langer’s 18-Year PGA Tour Champions Win Streak Ends

Bernhard Langer’s legendary 18-year win streak on the PGA Tour Champions has come to an end with a winless 2023 season.

For the first time since 2007, the PGA Tour Champions season concluded without Bernhard Langer claiming a tournament victory. The streak officially ended after Langer finished T14 at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, marking the end of one of the most remarkable runs in professional golf.

Bernhard Langer: The King of the PGA Tour Champions

Since joining the PGA Tour Champions in 2007, Langer has played in 377 events, winning a record 47 titles, including 12 senior majors, and securing 237 top-10 finishes. His consistency and longevity have set him apart, with at least one win in every season until now. His streak far surpasses the previous record held by Hale Irwin, who won in 11 consecutive seasons. Langer also holds the distinction of being the oldest winner in Champions Tour history, occupying the top five spots on that list.

At 68, even Langer couldn’t fend off time forever. In 21 starts this season, he failed to secure a win, although he remained competitive. He opened the year with a T2 finish at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship and added six more top-10 finishes. Impressively, he shot his age or better 11 times this season. Earlier in the year, he also bid farewell to the Masters after 41 appearances at Augusta National.

Still Winning—Just Not Officially

Despite the winless season on the PGA Tour Champions, Langer did find success at home. He claimed a wire-to-wire victory at the WinstonGolf Senior Open in Germany. He also looks to defend his title at the PNC Championship, a non-official event he won last year alongside his son Jason.
