Marc Hammer secures his Asian Tour card in Hua Hin after a playoff. Other German players missed the cut after round four.
The final stage of the Asian Tour Qualifying School (Q-School) at the Lake View Resort and Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand, concluded with 35 players earning their Asian Tour cards. Among them was German golfer Marc Hammer. After five intense days of competition, China’s Lin Yuxin topped the leaderboard, finishing at 16-under-par and leading the Q-School rankings. The left-hander impressed with a final-round 67 (-4), continuing his strong form from previous rounds (68–67–70–67).
Milestone moment for Lin Yuxin
Yuxin’s victory marks a significant milestone in the career of the highly regarded golfer. A two-time winner of the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship (2017, 2019), he played college golf at the University of Florida. Since turning professional in 2023, he has competed on the PGA Tour Americas and selected Korn Ferry Tour events. Yuxin has struggled with putting, which he described as mainly a mental challenge. “I played well all season but had putting issues, especially in the summer. I worked hard on it in October and November, and my game has felt good since,” he said. “It’s been tough, with many ups and downs. Honestly, I just had to stay patient. I’ve learned a lot since turning pro—it’s been a valuable experience.”
India’s Shaurya Bhattacharya followed closely behind, finishing second at 15-under-par after a final-round 72. Canadian Henry Lee secured third place at 14-under-par.
Marc Hammer clinches Asian Tour card in playoff
The fight for the final Tour cards came down to a dramatic playoff. Twelve players tied at five-under-par for 28th place battled for the last eight spots. The playoff extended over five holes, with eight players ultimately earning their cards—including Germany’s Marc Hammer. The 27-year-old from Sandhausen delivered a steady performance throughout the tournament, closing with a 70 (-2) and previous rounds of 71–67–72–70. Hammer, who has experience on the DP World Tour, proved his competitiveness last season with three top-10 finishes.
Other German participants, including Nicolas Horder (T93), Philipp Katich (T100), Wolfgang Glawe (T118), and Julius Kreutzer (T118), failed to make the cut after round four.
