Marc Hammer secures his Asian Tour card in Hua Hin after a five-hole playoff. Other German players miss the cut after round four.
The final stage of the Asian Tour Qualifying School (Q-School) at the Lake View Resort and Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand, saw 35 players earn their Asian Tour cards — including German golfer Marc Hammer. After five intense days of competition, China’s Lin Yuxin topped the leaderboard and led the Q-School rankings. The left-hander impressed with a final-round 67 (-4), continuing his consistent form from earlier rounds (68–67–70–67). Finishing at 16-under-par, the 25-year-old claimed the top spot and his Asian Tour card with authority.
Milestone moment for Lin Yuxin
Yuxin’s victory marks a major milestone in the career of the highly touted golfer. A two-time Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship winner (2017, 2019), he played college golf at the University of Florida. Since turning professional in 2023, he has competed on the PGA Tour Americas and selected Korn Ferry Tour events. Struggles on the greens, which he described as mostly “mental,” had held him back. “I played well all season but had putting issues, especially in the summer,” Yuxin said. “I worked hard on that in October and November, and my game has felt good since.” He added, “It’s been tough with highs and lows. Honestly, I just had to stay patient. I’ve learned a lot since turning pro — it’s been a valuable experience.”
India’s Shaurya Bhattacharya followed closely behind, delivering consistent rounds of 70–67–65–66 before stumbling with a 72 on the final day, including four bogeys. He finished at 15-under-par, just one shot behind Yuxin. Canadian Henry Lee claimed third place at 14-under-par.
Marc Hammer clinches Asian Tour ticket in playoff
The battle for the final Asian Tour cards was especially intense mid-leaderboard, where twelve players tied at five-under-par (T28) entered a playoff for the remaining eight spots. The playoff stretched over five holes, with eight players ultimately earning their cards — among them Germany’s Marc Hammer from Sandhausen, Baden-Württemberg. The 27-year-old delivered a steady performance throughout the tournament, closing with a 70 (-2) and building on his earlier rounds of 71–67–72–70. Hammer, who has prior experience on the DP World Tour, proved his competitiveness last season with three top-10 finishes.
Other German participants in the Asian Tour Q-School failed to make the cut after round four. Nicolas Horder (T93), Philipp Katich (T100), Wolfgang Glawe (T118), and Julius Kreutzer (T118) all missed out on securing a Tour card.
