Marc Hammer secured his Asian Tour card after a dramatic playoff at Q-School in Hua Hin. Other Germans missed the cut.
The final stage of the Asian Tour Qualifying School (Q-School) took place at the Lake View Resort and Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand, where 35 players earned their Asian Tour cards. Among them was German golfer Marc Hammer. After five intense days of competition, China’s Lin Yuxin topped the leaderboard, finishing at 16-under-par and leading the 2025 Asian Tour Q-School class.
Milestone victory for Lin Yuxin
Lin Yuxin’s win marks a major milestone in the career of the highly touted left-hander. A two-time Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship winner (2017, 2019) and former University of Florida standout, Yuxin turned professional in 2023 and has since competed on the PGA Tour Americas and selected Korn Ferry Tour events. He cited putting struggles—mostly mental—as a key challenge in his transition to the pro ranks. “I played well all season but had putting issues, especially in the summer,” said Yuxin. “I worked hard on it in October and November, and my game has felt good since. It’s been a tough journey with ups and downs, but I’ve learned a lot and gained valuable experience.”
India’s Shaurya Bhattacharya finished second at 15-under-par after a final-round 72, while Canadian Henry Lee secured third place at 14-under.
Marc Hammer clinches card in five-hole playoff
The battle for the final Asian Tour cards came down to a tense five-hole playoff. Twelve players tied at 5-under-par for 28th place, with only eight cards available. Marc Hammer, a 27-year-old from Sandhausen, Germany, emerged among the playoff winners. He posted rounds of 71–67–72–70, finishing with a solid 70 on the final day. Hammer, who has prior experience on the DP World Tour and recorded three top-10 finishes last season, now adds the Asian Tour to his resume.
Other German participants, including Nicolas Horder (T93), Philipp Katich (T100), Wolfgang Glawe (T118), and Julius Kreutzer (T118), failed to make the cut after the fourth round.
