Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh is ready for a comeback, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for his family. This was mutually agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level sporting challenges, but this was limited during his time with LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 due to injuries threatening his career and to secure a solid retirement fund. Thus, skipping the last contractual season is not surprising, although questions remain about whether he had to buy out or repay part of his guaranteed salary. He remains owner of the LIV team Smash GC, which recently named Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculations are growing about which tours Koepka will appear on next: DP World Tour, where he would have immediate playing rights, possibly with a penalty, or PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension from his last LIV event, after the lifetime bans imposed by former commissioner Jay Monahan were substantially reduced. It makes little sense to be vindictive when a prominent LIV returnee benefits the more powerful PGA Tour. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported that Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which had not been renewed after 2022.
