Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Immediately Back on PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager for more, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially opted out of the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to that circuit but needs more family time, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. However, Koepka is known as a competitive player who thrives on high-level competition, which he only found partly at LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 due to injury concerns about his career’s longevity and for a strong retirement fund. Questions remain about contract buyouts and ownership of his LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is strong about where Koepka will play next: the DP World Tour, where immediate eligibility might require a penalty payment? Or the PGA Tour, where a one-year suspension since his last LIV appearance lingers, reduced from lifetime bans by former Commissioner Jay Monahan? This crucial issue now partly answered: according to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, enabling his return to competition.
