Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Immediately Returns to PGA Tour

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh aims for a comeback, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the competing circuit but needs more family time. This friendly agreement was officially announced by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which he lacked at LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly because of injuries threatening his career and to secure a good retirement fund. His waiver of the last contractual season raises questions: did he buy out his contract or return part of his guaranteed fee? Is he still an owner of his LIV team Smash GC, which recently appointed Talor Gooch as captain?

Speculation abounds on which fairways Koepka will play next — the DP World Tour where he’d be immediately eligible, possibly with a penalty, or the PGA Tour where he currently serves a one-year suspension from his last LIV event after previous lifetime bans were softened. According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not renewed after 2022, seeking reinstatement among players.
