First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh is back, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.
As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains associated with the rival circuit but needs more family time. The LIV CEO Scott McNeil stated this was a mutual agreement. Koepka is a competitive type who is highly motivated by top-level competition, something he found limited in LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure substantial retirement money. Thus, skipping the final contractual season isn’t surprising, although questions remain about financial settlements and his ownership status of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.
Speculations abound on which tour Koepka will next appear. On the DP World Tour, he would be eligible immediately, possibly with a penalty. Or on the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension post his last LIV event, reduced from earlier lifetime bans by commissioner Jay Monahan. It makes little sense to be vindictive when every returning LIV player benefits the dominant PGA Tour. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally submitted his application last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the players’ ranks after not renewing post-2022.
