First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants to give it another go, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.
As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for his family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. But Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives on top-level competition, something he lacked motivation for in LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure financial stability for retirement. Thus, his skipping the last contracted season raises questions: Was there a buyout? Does the 35-year-old remain owner of his LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch?
Speculation abounds about where Koepka will next compete: DP World Tour, where he would be eligible immediately (perhaps with a penalty?), or the PGA Tour, where he must serve a one-year suspension from LIV after previous lifetime bans were softened. Why be vindictive when every LIV returnee ultimately benefits the established tour? ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not renewed after 2022.
