The PGA Tour kicks off this week with the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California, hosted by Tiger Woods. Although Matti Schmid is the only German-speaking player competing, the tournament features a star-studded field battling for important points in the Official World Golf Ranking and a total prize purse of $20 million. Defending champion Ludvig Åberg and world number one Scottie Scheffler are among the top players, alongside Tommy Fleetwood, Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Collin Morikawa, Russell Henley, J.J. Spaun, and many more competing in this prestigious event. All four days of the tournament are broadcast live on MagentaTV.
On the DP World Tour, the action moves to Nairobi, Kenya, for the Magical Kenya Open. Several German-speaking players, including the successful Düsseldorfer Freddy Schott, Marcel Siem, Marcel Schneider, Joel Girrbach, Bernd Wiesberger, and Maximilian Steinlechner, are on the entry list, although the field is traditionally dominated by Kenyan players.
