The PGA Tour kicks off this week at the Genesis Invitational in Pacific Palisades, Golden State California, hosted by Tiger Woods at the Riviera Country Club. Although only Matti Schmid represents the German-speaking region, the tournament features a star-studded field competing for vital world ranking points and a $20,000,000 prize purse. Defending champion Ludvig Åberg and the world number one Scottie Scheffler will be in the field along with Tommy Fleetwood, Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Collin Morikawa, Russell Henley, J.J. For the DP World Tour, the action moves to Nairobi, Kenya for the Magical Kenya Open. This event includes more German-speaking players such as Düsseldorf’s Freddy Schott, Marcel Siem, Marcel Schneider, Joel Girrbach, Bernd Wiesberger, and Maximilian Steinlechner, though the field is traditionally dominated by Kenyan players.
