Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Immediately Back on PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull planning a YouTube channel. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This came with a friendly agreement, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is a competitor who thrives in high-level competitions, which he lacked in LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly because of injury concerns and to secure a retirement fund. His skipping the last contracted season is not surprising, although questions remain about buyouts or refunds. He still owns his LIV team Smash GC, which has appointed Talor Gooch as the new captain.

Speculation arises on where Koepka will play next. On the DP World Tour, where he would be eligible immediately, possibly paying a penalty? Or on the PGA Tour, serving a one-year suspension following his last LIV event, after lifetime bans were softened? The key question seems partially answered: ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the playing field.
