Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns at 62, Charley Hull to launch YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the LIV Golf League season 2026, starting February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. However, Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competitions, which he had limited motivation for in LIV. He switched to the Saudi-backed league in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns threatening his career and to secure a comfortable retirement fund. Given this, his decision to skip the last contracted season is not surprising, although questions remain regarding financial settlements and his ownership status of LIV’s Smash GC team, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation continues about where Koepka will play next – potentially the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible, possibly with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension from his last LIV appearance after previous lifetime bans were significantly reduced. It now appears this issue is partly resolved. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported that last Friday Koepka formally applied to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the playing field.
