Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager for a comeback, Charley Hull soon launching on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was a friendly agreement, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which he found limited at LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 due to injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement income. The decision to skip his final contracted season surprises no one, though questions remain about buyout or payback arrangements, and whether the 35-year-old remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation grows about where Koepka will play next: DP World Tour with immediate eligibility but likely a penalty payment, or PGA Tour where a one-year suspension stands from his last LIV start, after previous lifetime bans were significantly softened. The essential question seems partially answered: according to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not renewed after 2022, to regain playing rights.
