Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants to compete again, Charley Hull also coming soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This was amicably agreed upon, according to an official statement by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which he lacked somewhat at LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and for financial security for retirement. His decision to skip the final contract year is therefore not surprising, though questions remain about buyouts or salary repayments. He remains the owner of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is rife about which tour Koepka will appear on next. The DP World Tour would grant him immediate playing rights, possibly with a penalty. The PGA Tour imposed a one-year suspension after his last LIV appearance, but earlier lifetime bans have been eased. Why be vindictive when a star’s return benefits the longer-established PGA Tour? According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not renewed after 2022, seeking reinstatement.
