Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh still eager, Charley Hull coming soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for his family. This was mutually agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is a fierce competitor who thrives on top-level competition, which he found somewhat lacking at LIV. Originally switching in 2022 due to injuries and to secure financial stability for retirement, his decision to skip the final contracted season is unsurprising, although questions remain about buyouts and team ownership, with Talor Gooch now captain of Koepka’s LIV team Smash GC.

Speculations abound about which fairways Koepka will next appear on. He is likely immediately eligible on the DP World Tour, perhaps with a penalty, or on the PGA Tour where a one-year suspension remains since his last LIV start, despite former Commissioner Jay Monahan’s significant reduction of lifetime bans. The critical question seems partially answered as ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and be reinstated as a player.
