Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Now

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to return, Charley Hull soon launching on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was amicably agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, known as a competitor who thrives in top-level contests, had limited motivation at LIV. He initially joined in 2022 partly due to injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund. Skipping his last contracted season is therefore not surprising, though questions remain about buyouts or guarantees. He remains owner of the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is growing about where Koepka will play next. He is immediately eligible for the DP World Tour—potentially with a penalty—or the PGA Tour, where he must serve a one-year suspension following his last LIV event. Previously, lifetime bans imposed by former commissioner Jay Monahan were significantly eased. Returning LIV players, especially stars like Koepka, benefit the established tour. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported that Koepka formally requested last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which had not been renewed after 2022.
