Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh aiming for a comeback, Charley Hull launching a YouTube channel. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the competing circuit but needs more family time. This was mutually agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who gets truly motivated only at the highest level of competition, which LIV has only partially provided. He originally joined LIV in 2022 partly due to injury concerns threatening his career and to secure retirement funds. Hence, foregoing the last contracted season is not surprising, although questions remain about any buyout or partial guarantee repayments. He remains the owner of LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch named new captain.

Speculations arise about where Koepka will appear next: the DP World Tour, where he could play immediately likely with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he would have to serve a one-year suspension from his last LIV event, after life bans by former Commissioner Jay Monahan were softened. A crucial question seems partly answered as ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership, which had lapsed after 2022.
