First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns at 62, Charley Hull heading to YouTube. The Back Nine.
As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s statement. However, Koepka, known as a high-level competitor who thrives under pressure, has been less motivated in LIV events. His 2022 LIV switch was mainly due to injury concerns and financial security for retirement. It’s no surprise he forewent the last contractual season, though questions remain about buyouts or salary repayments and whether he stays owner of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.
Speculation swirls about which tours Koepka will appear on next: DP World Tour where he would be immediately eligible, likely with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension after LIV play, though lifetime bans by former commissioner Jay Monahan have been softened. Returning LIV players, especially prominent ones, benefit the PGA Tour, which holds the upper hand. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership, which he hasn’t renewed since 2022.
