First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh still wants to compete, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.
As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was mutually agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which he found limited at LIV. He joined LIV primarily in 2022 due to injury concerns and to secure significant retirement earnings. His opting out of the last contracted playing season is therefore unsurprising, though questions remain about buyouts or partial refunds. He remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as new captain.
Speculation grows about which tours Koepka will play on next: the DP World Tour where he would be eligible immediately, maybe paying a penalty, or the PGA Tour where a one-year suspension applies post-last LIV appearance, after lifetime bans were substantially reduced. This crucial issue seems partially resolved as ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player pool after not renewing since 2022.
