First start at the Farmers now confirmed; Vijay Singh returns to PGA Tour, and Charley Hull launches a YouTube channel. The Back Nine.
As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time, according to a friendly agreement, LIV CEO Scott McNeil stated. Koepka, known as a highly competitive player motivated by top-level competition, was less energized on LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 primarily due to injury concerns threatening his career and to secure a substantial retirement fund. His skipping of the final contracted season is therefore not surprising, although questions remain about possible buyouts or repayments. Despite this, he remains the owner of the LIV team Smash GC, which recently appointed Talor Gooch as captain.
The speculation centers on where Koepka will next compete—DP World Tour, where he is eligible immediately, potentially facing a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV appearance after the former commissioner Jay Monahan softened lifetime bans? Returning to the PGA Tour, now dominant, suits Koepka well. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, lost after 2022, aiming for re-acceptance into the players’ circle.
