Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants to compete again, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for family. This was amicably agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which he found limited at LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 fearing his career might end due to injury and to secure a retirement fund. His waiver of the final contract year is therefore not surprising, though questions remain regarding any buyout or repayment of guaranteed money. He remains owner of the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is rife about which tours Koepka will play on next: DP World Tour where he would be immediately eligible – likely subject to a penalty? Or PGA Tour where he faces a one-year suspension following his last LIV event, although previous lifetime bans have been relaxed. Any returning LIV player, especially a prominent one, benefits the dominant tour. According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not renewed after 2022.
