Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns, Charley Hull to launch YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka officially withdrew from the 2026 LIV Golf League season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was a mutual agreement, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitive type who thrives on top-level competition, which he felt was limited in LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 due to injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund. Thus, skipping the final contracted season isn’t surprising, though questions remain on financial details and if he’s still the owner of his LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is rife on where Koepka will compete next: the DP World Tour, likely with immediate eligibility but possibly a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he would serve a one-year suspension since his last LIV appearance—reduced from the former lifetime ban by the ex-commissioner Jay Monahan. According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player pool.
