Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for family. This was mutually agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka, known as a competitive athlete who thrives on high-level competition, found limited motivation at LIV. He originally joined LIV in 2022 due to injury concerns and to secure a financial retirement fund—hence not surprising he forgoes his last contracted season, although questions remain about whether he had to buy out or refund salary. He still owns his LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch appointed captain.

Speculation abounds on which fairways Koepka will next appear. The DP World Tour would immediately allow him to play—possibly against a penalty—or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension after his last LIV appearance, following a reduction from the previously lifetime bans issued by former Commissioner Jay Monahan. Given the leverage held by the PGA Tour, it’s no surprise they would welcome a high-profile LIV returnee. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported that last Friday, Koepka formally applied to reactivate his non-renewed membership from 2022 and rejoin the PGA Tour player ranks.
