Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh ready to compete again, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was reportedly mutually agreed upon, as per an official statement from LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives in high-level contests, which he found limited in LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly to secure a post-career retirement fund due to injury concerns. Thus, skipping the final contractual season raises questions like whether he had to buy out or repay part of his guaranteed salary, and if he remains an owner of his LIV team Smash GC, which appointed Talor Gooch as the new captain.

Speculation centers on where Koepka will next appear: the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible, possibly with a penalty; or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension from his last LIV appearance after prior lifetime bans were notably reduced. Given that every LIV returnee benefits the established tours, this issue seems partly resolved. According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership and regain full player status.
