Membership Restored, No Suspension: Koepka Immediately Back on PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns to compete, Charley Hull soon launches on YouTube. The Back Nine.

It was expected: Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This mutual agreement was announced by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, something LIV golf offered him only to a limited extent. He initially joined LIV in 2022, anticipating an injury-shortened career and securing financial benefits for his retirement fund. His skipping the final contract year raises questions: Did he buy out his contract or return part of his guaranteed salary? Will he remain an owner of the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch?

Speculations are rife about which tours Koepka will appear on next. The DP World Tour could grant him immediate eligibility, possibly with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where a one-year suspension was imposed after his last LIV event but has since been significantly softened by the new leadership. Returning LIV players, especially stars like Koepka, ultimately benefit the PGA Tour. According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player ranks.
