Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants to compete again, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner intends to stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was a friendly agreement, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. However, Koepka is known as a competitive type who thrives in top-level contests and has been less motivated in LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure a good retirement fund. Thus, skipping his final contract year is not surprising, though questions remain about possible buyouts or partial repayment of guaranteed fees. It is also unclear if he remains owner of LIV’s Smash GC team, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is rife about where Koepka will next play. On the DP World Tour, where he’d be immediately eligible, likely with a penalty? Or on the PGA Tour, where he currently serves a one-year suspension after his last LIV appearance, following a major reduction of lifetime bans by former commissioner Jay Monahan? It seems part of the answer has emerged. According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership, which he did not renew after 2022, seeking re-entry into the players’ circle.
