As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major winner will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s friendly official statement. Koepka, known for high motivation in top-level competition, found limited excitement at LIV. Having joined LIV in 2022 amid injury doubts, seeking a solid retirement fund, his choice to skip the last contract year raises questions about buyouts or partial fee returns. He remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, led now by Talor Gooch.
Speculation swirls on Koepka’s next fairways: DP World Tour where he could play immediately, possibly with a penalty, or PGA Tour where a one-year suspension looms following the last LIV appearance, after lifetime bans by former Commissioner Jay Monahan were softened. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, seeking reinstatement into the player ranks.

His suspension would expire in August, coinciding with the 2026 season’s end at the Tour Championship
