First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants to play again, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.
As expected: Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s statement. But Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, something he found only limited at LIV. He switched to LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns about ending his career early and to secure a solid retirement fund. Given that, it’s not surprising he skipped the final contractual season, though questions remain about financial terms and his ownership status of the LIV Smash GC team captained by Talor Gooch.
Speculation continues about which tours Koepka will play on next. On the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible—possibly with a penalty—or on the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension from his last LIV event after previously imposed lifetime bans were softened. Why be vindictive when any high-profile LIV returnee ultimately strengthens the more dominant tour? This key question seems partly answered: ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership not extended after 2022 and to be reinstated as a player.
