Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf League season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains linked to the competing circuit but needs more time for family. This was mutually agreed upon, according to official LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s statement. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which he had limited motivation for during LIV. He switched in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure a good retirement fund. Thus, skipping the last contractual season is not surprising, though questions remain about buyouts or repaying parts of guaranteed money. Koepka remains the owner of his LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is rife about which tours Koepka will join next. The DP World Tour would grant immediate eligibility, possibly with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he would face a one-year suspension since his last LIV event after lifetime bans were softened. It seems this major question is partially answered: per ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and regain playing privileges after leaving in 2022.
