Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to the PGA Tour Immediately

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh back on the scene, Charley Hull heading to YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has opted out of the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain linked to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was reportedly amicably agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, showed limited motivation at LIV. He initially joined the Saudi-backed league in 2022 after fearing his career-ending injuries and to secure a solid retirement fund. His skipping the final contracted season raises questions: Did he buy out his contract or return part of his guaranteed money? Is the 35-year-old still the owner of the LIV team Smash GC, which made Talor Gooch its new captain?

Speculation intensifies about which fairways Koepka will play next. He could immediately compete on the DP World Tour, possibly with a penalty, or aim for the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV appearance after former Commissioner Jay Monahan softened lifetime bans. The crucial question seems partly answered: ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally requested last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership after not renewing post-2022 and to be reinstated among players.
