As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the LIV Golf League’s 2026 season starting February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major winner remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for his family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, known for his competitive drive mostly activated by top-level contests, had limited motivation playing for LIV. He initially joined in 2022 primarily for financial security after injury concerns threatened his career. Questions remain whether Koepka had to buy out his contract or refund a portion of his guaranteed fee, and whether he stays owner of the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.
Speculation swirls on which tour Koepka will next appear. He is eligible immediately on the DP World Tour, possibly with a penalty, or on the PGA Tour subject to a one-year suspension following his last LIV event, amid eased lifetime bans originally imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan. On February 2, a newly created \”Returning Member Program\” allows select LIV players with recent major wins or Players titles to rejoin the PGA Tour without suspension. Koepka officially applied to reactivate his PGA Tour membership last Friday.
