Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh ready for another run, Charley Hull soon launching on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for family. This was agreed amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which he found limited at LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and the opportunity for a solid retirement fund. Thus, foregoing the final contract year is not surprising, though questions remain if he had to buy out or repay part of his guaranteed salary. He remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as the new captain.

Speculations abound on where Koepka will compete next. He would be immediately eligible on the DP World Tour, possibly with a penalty, or the PGA Tour where he faces a reduced one-year suspension since his last LIV event, after lifetime bans were softened. Why be vindictive when returning LIV players benefit the stronger tour? ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player roster after not renewing post-2022.
