Koepka Reinstated on PGA Tour with No Suspension; Ready to Return

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns at 62, Charley Hull to launch her YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has opted out of the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was reported as a friendly agreement according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. However, Koepka is a competitor who thrives on top-level contests and had limited motivation with LIV. In 2022, he joined LIV primarily because of injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund. Therefore, foregoing the final contractual season is unsurprising though questions remain about buyouts and partial repayments. He also remains the owner of the LIV team Smash GC, which appointed Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculation is rife about where Koepka will compete next: DP World Tour where he could play immediately possibly with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension after his last LIV appearance — a suspension softened from what was originally a lifetime ban by former Commissioner Jay Monahan. Returning prominently to the PGA Tour benefits both Koepka and the tour. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reports that Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player ranks.
