Brooks Koepka Regains PGA Tour Membership Without Suspension

First start confirmed at the Farmers Insurance Open, Vijay Singh returns at 62, Charley Hull launches YouTube channel. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major champion will remain connected to the rival circuit but wants more time for his family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, known for thriving in high-level competition, had limited motivation on LIV events and initially joined in 2022 to secure financial stability before an anticipated career end due to injuries. It remains unclear whether Koepka had to buy out his contract or return part of his guaranteed salary, or if he retained ownership of his LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation grows about where Koepka will compete next — the DP World Tour, likely with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension after his last LIV appearance, though lifetime bans imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan have been softened. According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and return to the player ranks.
