Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh is eager to compete again, Charley Hull soon launching on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting on February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner intends to remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This amicable agreement was officially announced by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives in high-level contests, which he found limited in LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 due to injury concerns that threatened his career’s end while securing a substantial pension fund. His skipping the final contracted season is unsurprising, though questions remain about buyout terms and his continued ownership of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation grows about which tours Koepka will play on. The DP World Tour could grant immediate eligibility, possibly with a penalty. Meanwhile, the PGA Tour imposed a one-year suspension after his last LIV appearance, though lifetime bans were significantly reduced. Many LIV returnees, especially prominent ones, benefit the PGA Tour. According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and be reinstated among players.
