Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants to try again, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season beginning February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will stay connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for his family. This was a friendly agreement, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who gets motivated and fired up only in top-level competition, which he found limited in LIV. He switched to LIV in 2022 mainly because of injury concerns about ending his career and wanting a solid retirement fund. Thus, skipping the last contractually required season is not surprising, although questions remain about possible buyouts or repayment. The 35-year-old remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, recently appointing Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculations rise about which fairways Koepka will appear on next: DP World Tour, where he would be eligible immediately, possibly paying a penalty? Or the PGA Tour, where he must serve a one-year suspension since his last LIV event after previously life bans imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan were softened? Why be vindictive when every LIV returnee strengthens the better-established tour? This crucial question seems partly answered. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership not renewed after 2022.
