Koepka’s Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Returns to PGA Tour Immediately

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns at 62, Charley Hull to launch YouTube channel. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was reportedly agreed amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. However, Koepka is a competitive type who thrives in high-level competitions, something LIV offered to a limited extent. He joined LIV in 2022 primarily because injuries threatened to end his career early, allowing him to secure a good retirement fund. The decision to skip his final contracted season isn’t surprising, though questions remain about buyouts or refunding guaranteed salary portions. He remains the owner of LIV team Smash GC, which has named Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculation surrounds which tour Koepka will play on next: DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible likely with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV event, reduced from a lifetime ban imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan. It seems the key question is partially answered: ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership, which expired after 2022.
