Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Immediately Back on PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to return, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf League season beginning February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for family. This was agreed amicably, according to the official statement from LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor motivated by high-level competition, which he found somewhat lacking in LIV. He had originally joined LIV in 2022 due to injury concerns threatening his career and to secure a substantial retirement fund. Thus, his withdrawal from the last contractually obligated season is no surprise, though questions remain about potential buyouts or repayment of guarantees. He remains the owner of the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is rife about where Koepka will next appear. On the DP World Tour where he would be immediately eligible, possibly with a penalty? Or on the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV appearance, after former Commissioner Jay Monahan significantly softened lifetime bans? This critical question seems partly answered. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his non-renewed PGA Tour membership and return to the player ranks.
