Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh is back too, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for his family. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. However, Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which was somewhat limited during his LIV tenure. He initially joined LIV in 2022 due to injury concerns threatening his career and to secure retirement funds. Thus, skipping his final contractual season is not surprising, though questions remain about any buyout or repayment. Koepka remains the owner of LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as the new captain.

Speculations are rife about where Koepka will next appear on the fairways: the DP World Tour, where he’d be eligible immediately—possibly with a penalty—or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV event, after former Commissioner Jay Monahan reduced lifetime bans significantly. This situation seems partially resolved as ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not renewed post-2022.
