Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more family time. The LIV CEO Scott McNeil stated this was amicably agreed upon. However, Koepka is a fierce competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which was limited in LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 due to injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund. Questions remain whether he had to buy out or repay part of his guaranteed salary. Despite stepping back, he remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation surrounds where Koepka will play next — the DP World Tour where he could play immediately, possibly with a penalty, or the PGA Tour where he would serve a one-year suspension after his last LIV event, following the downgrading of life bans imposed by former commissioner Jay Monahan. According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the playing field.
