After strong performances in Bahrain and California, Schott and Jäger climb the world golf rankings as the top spots also shift.
Following the tournament weekend with the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship on the DP World Tour in Bahrain and the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour in Southern California, there have been significant changes in the official world golf rankings. After a thrilling final at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, Freddy Schott from Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf Golf Club) emerged as the tournament winner.
With his victory, Schott climbed an impressive 94 places from 103rd to 9th on the Race to Dubai list. In the official world golf rankings, Schott improved by over 200 places: at the beginning of last week, he was ranked 436th with minimal improvement compared to his 2025 standing. After his magnificent win in Bahrain, Schott now ranks 195th, breaking into the top 200. Close by in the rankings is Nicolai von Dellingshausen, also hailing from Düsseldorf but with roots at Golf Club Hubbelrath. Von Dellingshausen currently holds 192nd place with no change from the previous week.
Jäger Also Climbs the World Golf Rankings – Movement at the Top
At the Farmers Insurance Open of the PGA Tour, Stephan Jäger launched a comeback on Saturday and secured a tied 5th place on the final Sunday with 15 strokes under par. The 36-year-old from Munich rose into the top 100 of the world golf rankings. Climbing 22 spots, Jäger now sits 99th and is closely trailing the best German player, Matti Schmid, who occupies 98th place and finished T56 at the Farmers Insurance Open. The points difference between them is just 0.0216.
There was also movement among the leading players in the world golf rankings. With Englishman Justin Rose winning the Farmers Insurance Open, Tommy Fleetwood dropped from 3rd to 4th place. Rose gained seven positions, ascending from 10th to 3rd in the rankings. Englishman Russell Henley and Scot Robert MacIntyre each slipped one spot. Justin Rose now ranks behind second-placed Rory McIlroy and the untouchable number one Scottie Scheffler, who leads the Northern Irishman by approximately 8.5 points.
