Schott and Jäger Climb the Official World Golf Rankings After Strong Performances

After strong performances in Bahrain and California, Schott and Jäger climb the Official World Golf Rankings as the top spots also shift.

Following the tournament weekend featuring the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship of the DP World Tour in Bahrain and the Farmers Insurance Open of the PGA Tour in Southern California, several changes occurred in the official World Golf Rankings. After a tense finale at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, Freddy Schott from Düsseldorf (Düsseldorfer Golf-Club) emerged as the tournament winner.

His victory propelled Schott up 94 places from 103rd to 9th on the Race to Dubai leaderboard. On the World Golf Rankings, he climbed more than 200 spots: at the beginning of last week, he was ranked 436th, showing only minimal improvement compared to 2025. After his triumphant win in Bahrain, Schott now ranks 195th, placing him within the top 200. Nearby on the rankings is Nicolai von Dellingshausen, also from Düsseldorf but originally associated with Golf Club Hubbelrath, currently holding 192nd place with no change from the previous week.

Jäger Also Climbs on the World Golf Rankings – Top Positions Shift

At the PGA Tour’s Farmers Insurance Open, Stephan Jäger launched his charge on Saturday and secured a tied 5th place on the final Sunday with 15 under par. This 36-year-old from Munich moved into the top 100 of the World Golf Rankings. With a jump of 22 places, Jäger now sits at 99th, closely trailing Germany’s best player Matti Schmid, who holds 98th place and finished tied 56th at the Farmers Insurance Open. The points difference between them is currently just 0.0216.

There were also changes among the leading players in the World Golf Rankings. The Englishman Justin Rose’s victory at the Farmers Insurance Open pushed Tommy Fleetwood down from 3rd to 4th place. Rose improved seven spots, climbing from 10th to 3rd in the rankings. Englishman Russell Henley and Scottish player Robert MacIntyre each slipped one place. Rose now ranks behind second-placed Rory McIlroy and the untouchable number one Scottie Scheffler, who holds about an 8.5-point lead over the Northern Irishman.
