From day one, Justin Rose led the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour, breaking a Tiger Woods record at age 45.

PGA Tour: Justin Rose Wins with Tournament Record

In the final round, a 70 was enough to secure a comfortable victory. Rose pulled further ahead with three birdies on the front nine, and despite a single bogey on the 12th hole on the back nine, he had ample cushion. He focused on breaking the tournament record of 22 under par, which Tiger Woods had set in 1999. \”That was the only thing I focused on during the last three holes,\” Rose said afterwards.

\”The fact that I could increase my lead every day is something I’m proud of as a player, as it shows I handled the pressure from start to finish, continued to improve, and moved forward,\” Rose said at his winner’s press conference. \”Maybe that’s something I hadn’t managed before, so I’m very satisfied with that.\”

While his golf game was nearly flawless, Rose credited his mental strength for his success. \”I was very disciplined this week. Of course I played well, but I managed my game well, thought things through, was patient at the right moments, and was able to compensate for small mistakes by sinking the right putt at the right time. There was a lot of genuine mental maturity from a strategic golf perspective.\”

Stephan Jäger Finishes in Top 5

With Rose unreachable at the top, the rest competed for second place. Pierceson Coody shot a 65, the best round of the day, moving up 12 spots to share second place with Si Woo Kim and Roy Hisatsune. Just behind them, Stephan Jäger tied for 5th at 15 under par, posting a solid 68 in the final round. After fluctuating between birdie surges and bogey trouble in earlier rounds, Jäger balanced both on the final day. Despite three bogeys from errant shots, he made seven birdies to maintain a top-10 position. Following a missed cut at the American Express, this is a positive sign for his new year and his best result since the Sony Open in January 2025.

Brooks Koepka finished the tournament with a 70, tied for 56th, completing his first week back on the PGA Tour. Koepka noted that half the players were unfamiliar to him after recent changes in the last four years. \”It’s been a few changes. I know half the guys, but the other half I don’t. It’s going to be an exciting year to get to know everyone, and I’m looking forward to it,\” he said after the event.
