Schott and Jäger Climb World Rankings After Strong Performances

After strong performances in Bahrain and California, Schott and Jäger rise in the world rankings as the top positions also shift.

Following the tournament weekend featuring the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship on the DP World Tour in Bahrain and the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour in Southern California, there was considerable movement on the official world rankings. After a tense finale at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, Freddy Schott from Düsseldorf (Düsseldorfer Golf Club) emerged as the tournament winner.

With his victory, Schott jumped 94 spots from 103rd to 9th on the Race-to-Dubai list. On the world rankings, he climbed over 200 places: at the beginning of last week, he was ranked 436th and had improved only slightly compared to 2025. Following his glorious win in Bahrain, Schott now stands at 195th, well within the top 200. Close to him on the ranking is Nicolai von Dellingshausen, also from Düsseldorf but rooted at Golf Club Hubbelrath, holding steady at 192nd without change from the previous week.

Jäger Also Climbs in the World Rankings – Changes at the Top

At the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour, Stephan Jäger launched a comeback on Saturday and secured a tie for 5th place on the final Sunday with 15 under par. This performance propelled the 36-year-old from Munich into the top 100 of the world rankings. Having gained 22 places, Jäger is now 99th and close on the heels of Germany’s top player Matti Schmid, ranked 98th, who finished tied 56th at the same event. They are separated by a mere 0.0216 points.

Movement was also seen at the top ranks of the world rankings. Englishman Justin Rose’s victory at the Farmers Insurance Open pushed Tommy Fleetwood from 3rd to 4th place and Rose surged from 10th to 3rd. Additionally, Englishman Russell Henley and Scotsman Robert MacIntyre each dropped one place. Justin Rose now sits behind second-ranked Rory McIlroy and the untouchable number 1 Scottie Scheffler, who holds an 8.5 point lead over the Northern Irishman.
